Common questions

Homes

Do you need to visit before quoting?

Not to get started. A few photos and the number of stories get you a ballpark. The firm price comes once we have seen the glass, because hard water, paint and silicone are hard to judge from a photo. The quote is free either way.

Do I need to be home?

Not for exterior work, as long as we can get around the house and the gate is unlocked. Interior work needs someone to let us in.

Are tracks and sills included?

Sills, yes, as standard. Tracks are cleaned with any interior clean.

What do you do with screens?

Screen cleaning is an add-on: $2 a screen, or $4.25 in Big Sky. They come out, get washed, and go back into the opening they came from: screens are not interchangeable, and a mismatched set never sits right. Torn mesh or loose spline is a repair, from $15 a screen plus the mesh.

How often should I have this done?

Twice a year suits most homes in the valley, which is also what the glass industry recommends as a baseline. More if you are on a gravel road, near farmland, or your sprinklers hit the glass.

Can you reach second- and third-story windows?

Yes. One- and two-story homes are most of the work, and three stories is routine. Glass above the third story is not work we take on. If you are thinking of doing the upper floor yourself, read the guide to second-story windows first.

Businesses and rentals

What kinds of businesses do you work with?

Storefronts and restaurants, offices, medical and dental offices, spas, hotels, lodges and resorts, property managers and HOAs, vacation rentals, and builders. Buildings up to three stories, on a schedule anywhere from weekly to once a year.

Can you provide a certificate of insurance?

Yes. Property managers, landlords and builders usually need one on file before the first visit; ask and it comes from our insurer.

Can you work before or after business hours?

Yes. Storefronts and restaurants are usually done before opening or after closing, so nobody steps around a ladder to reach the door.

How does billing work for businesses?

You are invoiced when the job is done, or on whatever schedule your office needs. Recurring customers keep their price, and a yearly plan gets a discount.

Do you clean whole buildings and HOAs?

Yes: common areas on a recurring schedule, and every unit's outside glass once or twice a year, with dates you can pass on to residents. More on the page for property managers and HOAs.

Can you clean between vacation rental guests?

Yes, including same-day turnovers when the booking calendar allows: send the checkout time as early as you can. Or on a regular schedule through the season. More on the page for vacation rentals and second homes.

Will you send photos when the job is done?

On request. Owners who are away and property managers often ask, and we are glad to. Anything that needs a repair, like a torn screen, a cracked pane or a double pane fogged between the glass, you hear about either way.

Do you work with builders on new construction?

Yes. Post-construction cleaning takes off the labels, film, paint and mortar before the final walkthrough, scheduled around your closing date. How we do it.

Booking, weather and payment

How much does window cleaning cost?

We price by the pane, and every house is different, so the firm price comes once we have seen the glass. A few photos with your quote request get you a ballpark first. Screens are an add-on from $2 a screen; paint, silicone and hard-water spots are quoted separately.

Are quotes free?

Always. For a property well outside the valley we start from photos, and if the ballpark works for you, we come and look at no charge.

How quickly will I hear back?

Usually the same day, and often within the hour. You can call or text any day of the week.

When will you arrive?

You get a set arrival time. On a packed day we give you a close estimate instead, and come straight from the job before yours.

What if I am not happy with the job?

If a window streaks within 30 days, we come back, clean it again, and credit you for the windows we had to redo. That covers streaks from our cleaning, not dirt or weather that reaches the glass afterward.

The white glove is for the day itself: when we finish, run it along the glass. If it comes away dirty, the job is free.

How do I pay?

Cash, check, Venmo, Zelle, Cash App or card. Paying by card adds a processing fee. Businesses can be invoiced.

What happens if it rains?

Light rain rarely spoils a clean window. Heavy weather, high wind, or anything that makes ladder work unsafe means the visit moves, and you hear about it before the appointment rather than after.

Do you work through the winter?

Yes. Interior work carries on all year, and exteriors whenever the weather allows. Storefronts are usually kept on their schedule through the season.

Are you insured?

Yes, and a certificate of insurance is yours on request. What to ask any window cleaner, us included, is in the guide to hiring one.

Is there anything you will not do?

Broken windows, glass above the third story, and anything we cannot do safely. If your job is one of those, we will say so on the first call rather than on the day.

Send a few details and a couple of photos for a ballpark, usually back the same day. The firm price comes once we have seen the glass.
