What this website collects when you ask for a quote, what we do with it, and who else sees it.
Last updated September 2026.
This page explains what the Window Wizard website collects, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It covers this website only.
When you ask for a quote
The quote form asks for the following; the quick-quote box that pops up on some pages asks only for your name, phone number and, if you like, your email:
- your name, phone number and email address
- the address of the property and the town it is in
- whether it is a home or a business, and the service you want
- how you would like us to reply: a call, a text or an email
- anything else you choose to tell us in the notes
We use these to reply, to quote, to schedule and do the work, and to keep a record of the job. We do not sell them, rent them or trade them, and we do not send you marketing email unless you ask for it.
How you found us
When you first arrive, the site stores a small cookie called ww_attr in your browser. It records how you got here: the page you landed on, the site that sent you, and any campaign tags in the link, such as utm_source or the click ID that Google Ads adds. If you send a quote request, those details go with it, so we can tell which listings and ads bring in work. If you never send one, we never store them.
The cookie lasts 90 days, can only be read by this website, and is never set for search engine crawlers. If someone gave you a referral link, the code in it is recorded the same way.
How the site is used
We use Google Analytics to see how people use this site: which pages they read, which buttons they tap, and whether a quote request went through, so we can make it easier to use. It sets cookies whose names start with _ga, which last up to two years. Google receives your browser and device type, the pages you visit and roughly where you are, worked out from your IP address; Google does not store the IP address itself.
If you send a quote request, the request keeps the anonymous ID Google Analytics gave your browser. Later, if it becomes a job, we tell Google Analytics that it did and what it was worth, against that same ID, so we can see which pages and listings bring work. Google signals and ad personalization are switched off, so none of this is used for advertising. We never send Google your name, phone number, email or address. To opt out, block cookies for this site, or use Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Google explains its part in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Keeping out spam
To stop automated spam, a quote request also records which browser and device sent it (the user-agent string) and a scrambled form of your IP address, made with a secret key unique to this site. The scrambled form is only used to limit how many requests one connection can send in an hour. Your IP address itself is not stored with your request.
The site runs through Cloudflare, which tells us which country a request comes from, worked out from your IP address. We work in Montana, so the forms only accept requests sent from the United States; from anywhere else, please call or text us. When you start filling in a form, it may also load Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a program, is sending it, usually without asking you anything. Cloudflare explains its part in its Turnstile privacy addendum.
A request that reads like a sales pitch (search-engine services, web design, financing) is set aside rather than passed on, and checked by a person before anything is done with it.
Like almost every website, the server that hosts this one keeps standard access logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting, and deletes them after a limited time.
What the site does not do
- No advertising cookies, and nothing from this site used to show you ads elsewhere.
- No fonts, maps or videos loaded from other companies. The outside scripts are Google Analytics and, on the forms, Cloudflare Turnstile, both described above.
- No selling or sharing your details for anyone else to market to you.
Who else sees your details
- Email delivery. Your request is emailed to us, and any confirmation we send you goes the same way, through an email delivery service that sends mail on our behalf.
- Hosting. The website and its database are stored with a hosting provider.
- Our business tools. We may copy your request into the tools we use to schedule work, send invoices and keep job records.
- The law. If we are legally required to share information, for example by a court order, we share only what is required.
Text messages
If you choose a text as the way to reach you, or text us first, we will text you about your quote and your appointment, and for nothing else. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message and the texts stop. We do not share your mobile number with anyone for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
Quote requests are kept as business records for as long as they help us serve you and keep our accounts. If you ask us to delete yours, we will, unless the law requires us to keep part of it, such as an invoice. The ww_attr cookie deletes itself after 90 days, and you can delete it sooner in your browser settings.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Use the email address or phone number on our contact page and we will reply within 30 days. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser; the quote form works without them.
Children
This site is for adults arranging window cleaning. It is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it, and so does the date at the top.
