How much does window cleaning cost in Bozeman?

The honest answer is that it depends on the house, and anyone who quotes a single number without asking about yours is guessing. Here is what actually changes the price.

What changes the price

• How much glass. The number and size of the windows, and whether there are skylights or big picture windows.
• Height and access. A single-story ranch is quicker than a three-story house on a slope.
• Inside, outside, or both. Outside-only is the cheaper visit.
• What is included. Screens, tracks and sills are included by some and extra with others. With us, sills are included and screens are an add-on, from $2 a screen.
• Paint, silicone and stickers. Anything stuck to the glass takes more than a cleaning, and is usually quoted on top.
• Hard-water spots. Removing mineral deposits is a slower, separate job.
• How long since the last clean. The first visit after years takes longer than the next one.
• How often. Regular customers often pay less. Ours keep their price, and a yearly plan gets a discount.

Per pane or per house?

Some cleaners price per pane, some per house, some by the hour. We count by the pane, and because every house is different, the firm price comes once we have seen the glass.

Comparing two quotes

Ask each one the same questions:

• Is it inside and outside? Are screens, tracks and sills included?
• Will they use a razor blade on the glass? Window makers such as Andersen and Marvin say not to, and Marvin does not cover scraper scratches under its warranty.
• Are they insured? Ask for the certificate: we send ours on request.

A lower price for less work is not a cheaper version of the same service. It is a different service.
